EKINN Gastro Residency Programme 2026

 

Terms and conditions to participate in the programme to attract entrepreneurial talent to work on notable projects in the culinary field in San Sebastian

To foster San Sebastian’s international connection with entrepreneurial culinary talent, by bolstering the city’s ability to attract international gastronomic projects, generate jobs and consolidate a connected, open and dynamic ecosystem, where talent will find the necessary conditions to thrive.

With the goal of connecting, attracting entrepreneurial talent in the culinary sector, Fomento de San Sebastian is launching this EKINN GASTRO San Sebastian Residency Programme (Ekinn Gastro Residencies), which paves the way to the city for professionals with culinary entrepreneurial projects who are from outside the BAC [Basque Autonomous Community]; it is in the form of a call aimed at individuals or legal entities interested in working on culinary entrepreneurial projects in our city.

  • WHO IS THIS PROGRAMME FOR?

    The programme is for:

    • Entrepreneurs who are not resident in the BAC with a hospitality business project in the culinary field, who wish to be located in San Sebastian.
    • Companies from outside the BAC and start-ups which are not resident in the BAC with a hospitality business project in the culinary field and which wish to be located in San Sebastian.
  • CHARACTERISTICS AND RUNNING OF THE PROGRAMME

    This programme seeks to support professionals with hospitality projects in the culinary field, by means of stays in San Sebastian of between 15 days and 2 months, where the project participants will be able to learn about and be mentored on – by Fomento de San Sebastian – the opportunities that the city offers as a base for their businesses. On an exceptional basis, Fomento de San Sebastian may extend the length of the stay if it so deems appropriate and when requested and justified by the applicant.

    The programme consists of:

    • Project mentoring process: expert advice to give impetus to the business projects with mentors during their stay.
    • A work space in San Sebastian during the stay in the EKINN building.
    • Work agenda + Connection with the local culinary and tourist leisure ecosystem.
    • Welcome pack.
  • HOW CAN I APPLY TO TAKE PART IN THE PROGRAMME?

    Applications must be submitted online via the Fomento de San Sebastian website (www.fomentosansebastian.eus).

    The following documents must be submitted.

    Administrative Documents

    1. Application annex
    2. In the case of an individual, a copy of the ID of the applicant.
    3. In the case of a legal entity, a copy of the tax number of the applicant and, as applicable, ID of the legal representative.
    4. Document accrediting that that applicant is resident outside the BAC prior to the application date. Documents will be accepted in Spanish, Basque or English. In the case of other languages, the document must be translated into any of the above three languages to be valid.
