  • The 10th edition of the DonostiaINN Awards recognizes the trajectory and contribution of three key agents of the innovative ecosystem of San Sebastián: Surphase, iLine Microsystems and the Faculty of Chemistry of the EHU.

The 10th edition of the DonostiaINN Business Innovation Awards recognized the achievements and contributions of three key players in San Sebastián´s innovation ecosystem: Surphase, iLine Microsystems, and the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of the Basque Country (EHU). The ceremony, held at the Hotel María Cristina, marked the close of the 12th edition of Innovation Week, organized by Fomento de San Sebastián in collaboration with the city´s scientific, technological, and business organizations.

Established a decade ago, these awards recognize the work of companies that have made of innovation their engine for competitiveness and growth, becoming benchmarks not only in their sector but also for the city. The awards highlight San Sebastián´s capacity to generate impactful projects, attract talent, and establish itself as a global leader in innovation.

skale2ctThe ceremony was attended by numerous entities from the city´s innovation ecosystem, as well as representatives from cities such as Turin and Grenoble (European Scalability Network Pilot Action project), or Espoo, Porto, and Bologna, with which a network of medium-sized European innovation cities is being established. Also present were André Sobczak, Secretary General of EUROCITIES, and Manuel Heitor, Chair of the European Commission´s Expert Group on the Horizon Europe Midterm Evaluation.

About the three awarded entities:

Surphase, awarded as a young innovative company, promotes technological solutions for more sustainable and efficient water use.

iLine Microsystems, recognized as an established innovative company, stands out for its contribution to in vitro diagnostics and its impact on the international healthcare sector.

This year, the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of the Basque Country (EHU) receives Special Recognition for its scientific contribution and its key role in the development of the city´s research ecosystem.
