 Clean

The CLEAN or Technologies and open innovation for regions with low carbon emissions project will address the challenge of how best to meet EU energy efficiency targets for buildings in Europe’s regions.

  • WHAT WAS THE AIM OF THE PROJECT?

The aim is to collaborate among the cities and regions taking part in the project in improving the capacities of local and regional policies to increase energy efficiency in housing and infrastructures by 4%.

This will result in an effective engagement between public authorities and citizens, research centres and companies that will introduce new energy efficient solutions, through local Action Plans, that will make it possible to revise the current programmes as a result of the lessons learned among the participating regions and cities

  • WHAT were the MAIN ACTIONS?

The main outputs to be developed in the project were Action Plans, revised governance arrangements for policy instruments, and new types of projects and programmes supported as a result of interregional learning and transfer of innovative policies and solutions.

These results benefitted all stakeholders in the energy field in each region, that is, consumers of energy services, suppliers of energy products and services, centres of energy expertise (including innovation) and public authorities (promotors of energy efficiency).

  • WHO FUNDS THIS?

The Project is co-funded by the European Union in the INTERREG EUROPE programme
