Fomento San Sebastián is actively participating in the Interreg Europe project ICSI EU, which focuses on promoting intersectoral innovation as a key driver for local competitiveness and resilience.
Within this framework, project partners are engaging in study visits to explore and learn from different regional innovation ecosystems across Europe. These exchanges provide valuable insights into successful practices, governance models, and tools that support intersectoral collaboration.
In this context, Fomento San Sebastián took part in a study visit to the region of West Flanders (Bruges and Kortrijk) in December 2025. During the visit, partners explored several benchmark initiatives, including the House of AI in Kortrijk, a leading hub that promotes the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies across sectors and supports companies in their digital transformation processes.
More recently, in April 2026, the partnership gathered in the region of Warmia- Mazuri in Poland, continuing the exchange of experiences. These visits are key to identifying transferable practices and inspiring new policy approaches at local level.
In parallel to these interregional exchanges, the project is implementing a Strategic Foresight methodology to support innovation processes at local level. Through a series of participatory workshops involving key stakeholders from the local innovation ecosystem—such as companies, universities, and research centers—Fomento San Sebastián is working on anticipating future challenges and opportunities.
This process will continue in upcoming workshops, further consolidating collaboration among local actors and contributing to the development of more effective and forward-looking innovation policies within the framework of the ICSI EU project.
