This is a project co-funded by the Interreg Europe programme to reinforce agents involved in providing acceleration services for start-ups in emerging sectors in different local and regional ecosystems in the EU using an exchange and learning methodology in the fields of Skills/Mentoring, acceleration tools and talent management.

• WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT?

  Fomento San Sebastián is leading the SKALE2CT (Skills and Scale to Connect for Business Acceleration Services policy transfer) project, whose aim is to improve the existing programmes and skills in entrepreneurship and acceleration programmes for entrepreneurs by comparing different local and regional innovation ecosystems.

  Scalability is the key factor for strengthening the competitiveness of the productive fabric in EU regions both locally and globally. This is essential as business expansion means that SMEs and start-ups will be able to work with more customers, resources and data. Providing them with effective support in this process will enable EU companies to maintain the quality of their products or services and their general efficiency, and sustain their growth and impact on employment.

  From a medium-term perspective, the aim is to contribute to the upkeep and sustainable growth of the start-ups and emerging companies established in the EU. This will contribute to the territorial challenge of becoming an innovation-friendly society and economy.

• WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE BEING CARRIED OUT?

  In order to review these different tools, and to identify new projects and services, through an exchange and learning methodology the project aims to work specifically in three core areas:

  1. Executive leadership: Mentoring and Tutoring. Consultancy and tutoring services.
  2. Access to specific infrastructures for companies and start-ups in emerging sectors (e.g. for prototyping and testing, accelerator spaces for entrepreneurs, etc)
  3. Talent attraction and retention management (e.g. co-living, programmes to attract entrepreneurs, etc.)

  To do this, work will be carried out in various stages:

  1. Identifying good practices and inspiring solutions.
  2. Exchanging activities (Study Visits, Seminars, Workshops…)
  3. Assessing the policies and tools in each ecosystem.
  4. Improving policies and new solutions.
