  • Observaciones: Polymers for Health: The goal of this project is to investigate how the cellular microenvironment influences cell behavior within dynamic biomaterials. To achieve this, we will develop dynamically cross-linked materials that emulate the remodeling characteristics of the extracellular matrix (ECM). The main objective of the internship is to biophysically characterize the stimuli responsive properties of protein complexes and decellularized extracellular matrices (dECM). We aim to understand how cellular components can influence or remodel these materials, linking microscale interactions to macroscale material behaviors. By integrating biophysics, biomaterials engineering and polymer chemistry we aim to provide insights into ECM remodeling. These findings will support the development of complex 3D tissue models using dynamic materials. The intern will contribute to the following tasks: Functionalization of dECM for dynamic cross-linking Preparation of cell-laden hydrogels using dynamic materials Characterization of dynamically cross-linked materials using different techniques ranging from single molecule force spectroscopy to nanoindentation or rheology Cell-based assays to study cell-matrix interactions Candidate profile: Background in polymer chemistry, (bio)materials science or biomedical engineering Experience with cell culture, microscopy or rheology is a plus
