  • Observaciones: The intern will work on piezocatalytic water treatment using advanced functional materials for the degradation of persistent and emerging contaminants, with particular interest in PFAS-related model pollutants and other representative water contaminants. The project will build on recent work from the host group on piezocatalytic materials, where mechanical stimulation is used to generate reactive charge carriers and reactive oxygen species for environmental and energy-related reactions. The intern will participa te in catalyst preparation, material characterization, and water-treatment experiments. The work may include synthesis of piezoelectric or polarization-engineered catalysts, preparation of catalyst films or powder systems, degradation tests under ultrasonic or mechanical stimulation, analysis of pollutant removal/degradation efficiency, and investigation of reactive oxygen species involved in the process. Depending on the students background and available facilities, the project may also include comparison with photocatalytic or photo-assisted processes. The expected training outcomes include hands-on experience in materials synthesis, environmental catalysis, water-treatment testing, data analysis, literature review, and preparation of research reports and/or manuscript materials.
