  • Observaciones: Computationally Guided Development of Microfluidic Platforms for Placental Mechanobiology. This project aims to advance the understanding of uteroplacental hemodynamics by integrating computational modeling, microfluidic system development, and experimental cell studies. The intern will contribute to the design and fabrication of microfluidic platforms that replicate physiologically relevant flow conditions within the placenta. Guided by simulation results, these systems will be employed to investigate mechanobiological responses. The project offers hands-on training in microfabrication techniques, covering device design, fabrication, and testing. The intern will also gain experience conducting experimental cell studies, utilizing microfluidic systems to explore how mechanical forces, such as shear stress, affect cellular behavior. This comprehensive approach links computational predictions with biological outcomes, contributing to the understanding of both normal and pathological pregnancy. The intern will collaborate within an interdisciplinary team spanning bioengineering, computational modeling, and placental biology.
