Film cities

What is it?

The "Creative promotion of cultural heritage through the Film Cities network" project is an initiative that arose from a common concern for local economic development associated with the audiovisual culture.

Film Cities demonstrate the wealth and cultural diversity of 6 European cities, particularly for the audiovisual sector. Film Cities offer production companies a vast European set alongside excellent professionals.

Partners

All partners are non profit making organisations, linked to the local authority and they aim to boost the audiovisual sector in their surrounding area, attracting productions to their area.

Spain Film Commission (SFC)

Spain Film Commission

What is it?

Spanish Film Commission entity.

Objectives

The association aims to represent, promote, coordinate and cooperate with the “Film Commissions” and "Film Offices" network in Spain and work with the national audiovisual industry.

European Film Commission Network (EuFCn)

What is it?

It is a non profit making association that represents and promotes the audiovisual industry and European culture.

Objectives

EuFCn aims include:

  • Coordinating the different Film Commissions in Europe.
  • Improving and creating filming opportunities throughout the area.

Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI)

What is it?

International group of Film Commissions and Film Offices.

Objectives

Equipping the participating Film Commissions and Film Offices with greater international projection and accrediting the quality of their services.

Cinespace

Objectives

Designing and implementing a platform to exchange participative mobile information that interacts with the environment thereby promoting film shoots in the city and cultural heritage.

The system will allow users to access specific information from their environment whilst their stroll around the city, all presented visually.

The target public includes film tourism, audiovisual sector professionals and the general public.
