Observaciones: Pulmonary and heart disease are the major cause of death worldwide. Our research focus on systemic and cellular metabolism signaling applied to cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary disease. We use genetic and pharmacological models to decipher molecular mechanisms of disease that could be therapeutically targeted.
The experimental approaches molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, -omic techniques, histology and physiology. Training in techniques specific to the area of research will be provided.
In this position, the intern will integrate in the research group and complete tasks across all steps of the scientific method. Critical thinking and scientific discussion will be encouraged.The trainee will interact on a daily basis with other team members, Faculty members, physicians, veterinary technicians and students. There is no patient contact in this position.

Titulación: Minimum: Bachelors of Science / Masters of Science (or equivalent)

Experiencia: The successful candidate will have experience in basic research in biomedicine or a related area, and:

• Pro-active attitude
• Interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of commonly used procedures in biochemistry, molecular and cell biology.
• Ability to communicate effectively with experts from different disciplines
• Ability to maintain clear and detailed research notes
• Must demonstrate strong organization and time management skills
• Have troubleshooting skills. Protocol development abilities are a plus.
• Be willing to learn new techniques and approaches as needed
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
