Fomento San Sebastián participates in the closing conference of the European OptEEmAL project (Valladolid, 20th February 2019)

The European OptEEmAL (Optimised Energy Efficient Design Platform for Refurbishment at District Level) project, co-funded by the European Union within the Horizon Programme 2020, has come to an end after 38 months of work. It will present its final conclusions and the energy refurbishment platform for buildings at a district level on 20th February 2019 at its closing conference in Valladolid.

In addition to the presentation of the main results and the relevance of the OptEEmAL platform for the development of modernisation projects, there will be an opportunity for expert discussions and the exchange of experiences in energy refurbishment projects.

Representatives of the city, planners, experts interested in the energy, architecture and construction sectors will participate in the conference in order to discover the benefits that the project can offer to the design of refurbishment projects at a district level. Fomento San Sebastián will participate in the round table alongside the cities of Lund (Sweden) and Trento (Italy), in which they will address the most significant aspects of the project applied to real refurbishment environments thanks to the use of the OptEEmAL tool.

This conference will be held at the Valladolid Science Museum (Av. de Salamanca 59) from 8am to 5.30pm. For further information on the programme and to participate, register on the following link: https://www.eventbrite.es/e/entradas-conferencia-final-proyecto-opteemal-55338146887

The OptEEmAL project, led by the Cartif Technological Centre in Valladolid, began at the end of 2015 and has now come to an end. It has 13 European partners, among which Fomento de San Sebastián participates as one of the three demonstrator cities, along with Trento in Italy and Lund in Sweden.

In the case of San Sebastian, the pilot scheme under study in the OptEEmAL project focuses on energy refurbishment and connection to the District Heating of 156 dwellings in the Txomin-Enea neighbourhood. The platform simulates and tests different refurbishment scenarios, showing the optimum refurbishment solution. All of this will be shown at the two technical workshops that will be held at the ENERTIC building on 7th and 8th February 2019 (https://www.opteemal-project.eu/events/17/1772/v/opteemal-trainings-register-now.html).
