Fomento de San Sebastián aims to direct the process as a facilitator for the generation of ideas and not as a “governing body” or “process owner” encouraged by the spirit of Open Innovation. Insofar as is possible, information and technical knowledge will be provided. They will use their network of contacts and partners to identify and involve those who can contribute to the development and application of ideas offering advice and support to put into practice the selected ideas.
Once a challenge is closed on the platform, a committee is set up to select the idea/s to be developed based on their suitability to respond to the challenge set out and on the benefits that the idea/s will contribute to the city. During the process of development of the idea/s until their application, Fomento de San Sebastián will be delighted to work with the people and/or organisation/s who posted the idea or developed it while it was on the platform. However, if someone does not want to participate in this second phase of the process or prefers to post ideas anonymously, this is also possible. Ideas are selected based on their own merit.
The selected ideas will be developed as pilot projects with a consensus on action plans. This process will take place with people, individually, the team from Fomento de San Sebastián and other relevant individuals or organisations whose participation in the development of the idea is of interest as funding sources, business partners, experts and residents of Donostia.
